What's On

Following Government guidelines and the advice of the Baptist Union on safeguarding our church fellowship, we are closing down the Church and adjoining hall premises with immediate effect during these challenging times. All associated clubs and groups who use the premises are shutting down for the time being but leaders will be kept informed of future developments.

We look forward to meeting up again but in the meantime, take care, keep safe and healthy.

Mongeham Friendship Group

A warm welcome to everyone - just drop in and have a coffee/tea - we are a fun loving friendship group - either just sharing each others’ company or taking part in crafts and maybe learning new skills in crafts - there is always a readiness to teach each other craft skills. We meet every Tuesday morning from 9.30am to 12 noon and welcome new members - so don’t be shy!

For those interested in crafts, there is the opportunity to make quilts or make or knit garments/blankets in support of the Christian charity "Hope Now International", whose leaders and volunteers work alongside the Ukrainian people.

During 2019 as a group we have been able to support various local charities in donations raised from our weekly shrapnel collections of odd coins.

During the summer we enjoyed our annual outing to Broadstairs to participate in the St Peter’s Village Tour and contribute a small donation to the fund.

We continue to support members’ own individual charity fundraising with small gifts of donations and crafts.

Special mention of Linda Richards who has organised two fundraising events during the year and raised a total of £527.60 as contributions to the donations given to Oasis and Hope Now. Grateful thanks to Linda and all involved for such wonderful support.

Collections of quilts and garments continue to be delivered to Hope Now headquarters in Southampton for distribution to the Ukraine along with donations to the Mission Fund to help with costs of transport. Grateful thanks to all our hardworking members for their wonderful knitting and sewing throughout the year.

If you would like to join in craft activities there are plenty of opportunities to take up new and old skills – always someone on hand to help. Everyone welcome.

However, if you would just like to drop in for tea or coffee and chat, we would love to see you – Tuesday mornings from 9.30am to 12 Noon. Plenty of laughter and fun – no age limit. Do give us a try, you will find plenty of friendly faces.
